Gift for the Bride: Wedding Planning Books
Here at Hello Bridesmaids, we love gifting the bride with thoughtful presents throughout her wedding planning. It’s one of the most feel-good aspects of being a bridesmaid. We especially love to give the gift of a photo-rich wedding-planning book. Always useful (since she has so many details to decide on), a wedding inspiration book can help the bride discover something she loves for her celebration: a bouquet combination, special paper lanterns, or a twee ring-bearer’s outfit, for example. She’ll love that you’re thinking of her and likely treat herself to a cozy morning (or a few) spent turning over the pages.
With a lot of options out there, we wanted to point you toward two books that are still very new on the market in 2013, both written by celebrated wedding-insiders heralded for their good taste. Each in their own way, these books offer considered, modern ideas for brides with a wealth of imagery that’s sure to help brides picture the event and get excited about their big day.
The New-Fashioned Wedding
As featured on the fabulous celebration blog 100 Layer Cake, wedding planning book The New-Fashioned Wedding is a result of the inspired creativity of wedding and event gurus, Paige Appel and Kelly Harris of Bash, Please. Complete with ideas for table-settings, color palettes, bouquets and much, much more, The New-Fashioned Wedding delivers ideas for events with that perfectly hand-culled feel–personal and lovely and wonderfully chic! Witty and sophisticated, often with a vintage or home-spun feel, the ideas within these pages are decidedly hip. Think succulent favors, wildflower bouquets, and events held in refurbished automotive garages or pop-up celebrations in would-be-lazy fields.
Style Me Pretty Weddings
Authored by industry insider, Abby Larson of the beloved wedding blog Style Me Pretty, inspiration book Style Me Pretty Weddings was released in bookstores in December of 2012. Just like Larson’s blog, each wedding or wedding idea in this book is full of joy–and the modern style that keeps more than 2 million readers pinned to Style Me Pretty each month. But beyond just sumptuous visual inspiration, the book includes 15 hand-picked DIY projects for crafty brides as well as blueprints for elements that could help add a couple’s unique spin to any event. The book also includes step-by-step recommendations from Larson that can help a couple identify their personal style and weave it into their celebration.
